Delhi School of Excellence organised their first Inter DSE Sports Meet-2019-20 amidst great verve and camaraderie on 15th December 2019, at the GMC Balayogi Athletic Stadium Gachibowli, in which students from the three branches of DSE participated with great fervour and enthusiasm.
Mr A. Dinakar Babu, IAS, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Telangana Sports Authority presided over the sports meet as the Chief Guest. The program commenced with a guard of honour being accorded to the Chief Guest, who was escorted by the Members of the Management and the Principals of the three branches of Delhi School of Excellence.
The much-awaited Inter DSE Sports Meet began with great zeal, excitement and sportsmanship spirit with the welcoming of the Chief Guest and the other dignitaries.
In her address to the participants, the Vice Chairperson of Delhi School of Excellence, Ms Shilpa Ravi wished the students good luck and encouraged them to play with the true spirit of sportsmanship.
The choir team of DSE Banjara Hills presented a soulful prayer and invoked the blessings of almighty for the successful conduct of the event.
The chief guest solemnized the flag hoisting ceremony and took the salute of the impressive March Past of the student council members and the contingents of the three branches of DSE. The students entered into the spirit of the occasion in a grand way with the oath being administered to them by the chief guest.
A highly competitive event where the three branches of DSE eyed for the Overall Champions Trophy began with the torch run by the sports captains of the three branches and the students who had won laurels in sports like basketball, cricket, badminton, tennis, soccer and athletics.
During the occasion, the overall toppers and subject toppers of the AISSE, 2018 -19 were felicitated with cash awards, trophies and certificates of merit to acknowledge their journey of success in the field of academics. Apart from this the best outgoing students of the present batch were also felicitated for overall excellence, excellence in oratory skills and sports.
Declaring the Inter DSE Sports meet open, the Chief Guest Mr Dinakar Babu wished good luck to all the participating athletes and inspired and motivated them with the Olympic motto “Citius, Altius, Fortius” which means faster, higher, stronger and encouraged the participants to scale the heights, broaden their horizons, reset standards, beat the clock and better the best.
The song ‘I Am the Champion’ presented by the choir team of DSE Attapur encouraged all the participants and stirred them to excel in the upcoming sporting endeavours.
The students of DSE Manikonda displayed a Zumba performance mesmerizing the audience with their rhythmic graceful moves. The drill displays by the tiny tots of Pre Primary of DSE Attapur and DSE Manikonda enthralled the audience present at the venue.
The young champions were exposed to a plethora of events including various races and relays. Once the races began, the air was filled with cheering and tons of encouragement for the young athletes. Students of grades 1 to 10 of the three branches of DSE competed in various fun races, sprints and relays. Students from all grades bagged prizes in various events. The winners were awarded medals and certificates.
All the performances indicated the hard work and dedication of the students and teachers-in-charges who had trained them with utmost diligence.
At the end of the day, the whole aura of the stadium reverberated with joy and happiness as Team DSE Attapur emerged as the Overall Champions in the Inter DSE Sports Meet 2019-20.
A vote of thanks was proposed to acknowledge the contributions of everyone who had put in their efforts to make this event a grand success.
The Inter DSE Sports Meet ended as the Vice Chairperson, Ms Shilpa Ravi lowered the flag and declared the Inter DSE Sports Meet Close. Indeed, it was a day filled with sportsmanship, camaraderie, bonhomie and memories to cherish.
The rendition of national anthem concluded the day.
