Success does not just come and find you; you have to go out and get it.
Student council is an integral part of every school system. It is indeed an honour to be selected to contest among the worthiest of the worthy and stand for the prestigious post in the student cabinet. The student election canvassing speeches were held in two phases at DSE, Attapur. On 28th June, the core team consisting of the contestants for the post of Head Boy, Head Girl, Discipline Captains, Sports Captains, Deputy Head Boy and Deputy Head Girl were held. The House captains, prefects of the respective houses and the Deputy Discipline captains- Boys and Girls gave their canvassing speeches on 29th virtually.
The post for the student council is open for all the students of grades VIII, IX and X. The procedure for the selection of students standing for the coveted posts was a democratic one where all the interested candidates were required to fill in a google form with a few questions to fulfil certain criteria which included their academic performances and other accomplishments, their virtual etiquettes, contribution to various activities, their approach towards the school and other undertakings which benefit the society globally.
A panel headed by the Principal conducted interviews for the Student Council Core team, the Captains and the Deputies for the various posts to apprehend their spontaneous responses and well-versed knowledge. The prefects of the four houses were interviewed by a panel of teachers representing the respective houses.
The candidates delivered powerful campaigning speeches to vouch for themselves and were loud and clear about their goals and mission for the student community and the school at large. Now the countdown begins for the electoral date – 5th July which will decide the fate of these democratic warriors. All the Best to all the contestants. May the best candidate win!
